Friction between the tires and the road causes vehicle to stop when the brakes are applied. The stopping method can be with the rolling tires or the sliding ones. To determine which method is better, consider two identical cars moving at 25m/s. Each car has a m of 1500 kg. One stops by rolling with its brake applied; the other skids. Guess which car will stop first?
