I have a JVC GR-D270 video camera. There is an option to copy from the tape to card, but...?

I lost the manual, and it isn't clear on how to do so? So far I can only capture images to the SD card, which is pretty straightforward, but I would love to know how to copy the footage on the card, it would make for MUCH easier editing.
