WHY GLACE LAYER MELTING? (ICE) , WHAT IS THE PERCENTAGE SINCE 2000 UP TO 2011.?

The controversy in this question has to do with the cause- natural, or man made? Ice melts when average global temperatures rise. Ocean levels rise making some land uninhabitable. Some plant species thrive, others wither from the heat. The "balance" is disturbed. Man adapts rapidly, but other species can have problems. Can mankind do anything? That is the great question.
