Can i file charges?

Ok a guy just cussed me out because some one rang his doorbell and ran.I saw some of my friends and i gave them a ride home who live just down the road. when i left he was walkin towards my car and wouldnt let me go around. i stopped and rolled down my windows and his exact words were "i swear if i catch you effin around my house again ill effin kill you" and he took my license plate number and left. I wasnt doing anything wrong. I wasnt even near his house. Can i flie charges for him doing this??
